Chef Alexandra of Meals By Mimi is here to cook for you and help “serve” you and your family.  She cooks for you in your home for one day and you heat and eat for many.  So sit back and enjoy the pleasure of fresh, home-cooked meals in the privacy of your own home and with those most important to you.

Chef Alexandra has her ServSafe Certificate, Business License, Insurance, and many years of experience cooking for family and friends.  Meals By Mimi provides personal chef services in the greater Chicago area, including suburban cities.


Chef Alexandra has been trained in sanitation requirements for proper food handling and storage. She utilizes these techniques to insure that you enjoy safe food products. However, you the consumer are then responsible for continued proper food storage and handling to help prevent any food-borne illnesses.

According to the Servsafe principles, the National Restaurant Association, and the International Food Safety Council, food should be stored under refrigeration at 41* f or below, at a frozen temperature of 0* or lower, and food should be reheated to an internal temperature of 165*.

You will be provided with a calibrated meat thermometer, an oven thermometer, and a refrigerator thermometer to help you prevent food-borne illnesses.

After you contact Alexandra on the website,  you complete a questionnaire about your likes, dislikes, food allergies, a list of medicines that might conflict with certain foods, and cook dates that are convenient for you and your family. A free consultation is then scheduled to meet you and discuss your menu needs. After emailing back and forth about the menu you would like, we choose a cook date

During a cooking session, Alexandra does the grocery shopping , comes to your home, prepares the meals, packages and labels them with heating instructions, cleans up, and leaves until the next cook date. She usually prepare 7 entrees with sides with about 6 to 8 servings for each meal. It takes her about 6-8 hours to complete this task. This of course depends on how many entrees and servings that you need.
